Fans of this Disney classic and/or its sequel?
The original has a special place in my heart in the midst of all the Disney classics that I love, because this was my sister's (who passed away a long time ago) favourite Disney classic and I made memories with her as we went to see it when it was re-released in theaters when I was a kid. And because I'm love dogs, and because it's such a sweet story that is memoriable and intriguing without having a dramatic core story.
It's definitely one of the best of the old Disney in every which way.
The late '90's sequel I love a bunch too. Though it - as the classic sequels always do - has completely different feel to it than the original. But in this case it works. Even though the time gap is only six months, the story is from a point of virew of a child/pre-teen instead of two/four adult dogs, so it's kinda "allowed" to be less romantic/artistic/calm but rather "modern" and..."simpler".
Also, whereas generall speaking the main character not having his own personality but being "just like his father", would take away, in this case I think it workd perfectly as we never really got to see the father being like that and now the guy is complete opposite of that and the clone-ness having multiple story-related points too.
The story was a good idea too. Again, Tramp's nature and reputation was a crucial part of the original story yet we saw very little of it. It was nice to get more insight into it through his son.
I love Scamp the most out of the characters in the fandom and I wouln't complain if they made a TV series about him. I'm always delighted when I see a Scammp story in a Donald Duck magazine, even if it's just a one-pager.
