This is thread to share our own darker theories. I guess I'll start with my own regarding the final battle from TLK2. Basically Zira's lionesses killed/ate half of Simba's Pride. Because a good chunk the battle was just Pridelanders being slapped around, bitten, or were straight up outnumbered and being torn apart. Then all of a sudden Simba's being swarmed by a bunch of them. And, I mean the Outsiders were starving and looked like they were attacking prey. (especially those 3 fav.me/dalvq98 I mean the Outsider on top looked like she was starting to eat the poor lioness on screen. I theorize that the Outsiders intended to eat Simba's lionesses after they killed him. I mean as I said they were starving and taking down lionesses with a lot more meat on their bones. And, I mean it's uncommon but not undocumented, that a pride of lions will eat another out of extreme hunger or as an ultimate display of dominance. Considering how amused she looked while watching her lionesses tear Simba's apart I don't think Zira wanted any survivors, and showed no intention of stopping her pride. It's dark but it's an interesting theory. I mean hiding implied death and cannibalism by showing everyone's even and okay at the end wouldn't be even close to the dark stuff disneys done in the past.

Yes, Disney has been very dark in the past, particularly in the 80s and 90s. Besides, Zira's pride would have had no use for Simba's pride and I don't think they would have risked the newly overtaken home by bannishing them just to see them return with stronger troops later. I like your theory and think it very well might have been if the creators decided to go all the way with the darkness. I don't have a dark theory in mind right now but will certainly post one here if I think of any later. Welcome to the forums!
